The Centre for Theology & Community is an independent, ecumenical Christian charity which relies entirely on donations and grants. Please join us in equipping local churches to engage their local communities through mercy, justice and sharing the faith.

Join the CTC Community!

By joining the CTC Community you will become an important part of our work equipping the Church. Members of the Community will receive:

  • MONTHLY EMAIL UPDATES – updates on our latest publications, research, resources and events
  • LETTERS – a news and prayer letter from our Director, Canon Dr Angus Ritchie (three times a year), giving you new insights into the work of the Centre and its partners
  • JUST LOVE – a free hard copy of our latest book Just Love, setting out a clear theological manifesto for the work of renewing the local church in its mission to its community
  • ALL NEW CTC REPORTS – you will also be sent a free hard copy of each new report in our ‘Theology for the Local Church’ and ‘Research for the Local Church’ series, as soon as they are published. We currently publish a report every few months.
  • ANNUAL CELEBRATION – an invitation to CTC’s annual evening celebration, with a chance to meet other Community members and the staff team.

In return, we ask for a regular direct debit of at least £5 per month (£60 per year) or £25 per month (£300 per year) for organisations. All contributions can be gift-aided. Please use our secure CAF Donate facility to join the Community:

Membership of the Community is free to the unwaged – if this applies to you, please email us instead on to join by giving us your relevant details. (Note that for reasons of cost we are only able to mail hard copy reports to international friends outside of the UK if there is a regular minimum monthly donation of £10.)

It is now possible to give to CTC through Stewardship, if that is how you manage your giving.

Make a single donation

You can also make a one-off donation of any amount through our easy and secure CAF Donate facility. Donations can be gift-aided. Every contribution helps.

  • £25 will pay for a Money Talk in a local church, as part of the Just Money Campaign
  • £50 will pay for one BabySong session, run by our SingSpire community music project
  • £100 will pay for half a day of applied research on Church Growth in east London

The Buxton 180 Club

The Buxton Leadership Programme is revitalising Christian engagement in politics by giving talented young leaders a unique combination of experience in Parliament alongside church-based community organising. The Programme is named after Thomas Fowell Buxton, a key leader in the Abolition Movement which reshaped British politics and changed the world by imaginatively combining action in civil society with focused energy inside Parliament. The Buxton Leadership Programme is equipping a new generation to do the same.

The Programme was established exactly 180 years after Buxton’s motion in Parliament finally freed the over 800,000 slaves in the British Empire. To celebrate this, and to put the Programme on a sustainable footing for the future, we have created the Buxton 180 club for people who would like to contribute £180 a year (£15 a month) towards the costs of running the programme.

To join the Buxton 180 Club simply click here and choose a regular donation of £15. Or if you’d prefer you can give a single donation of £180 and we will get in touch each year to invite you to renew.

Sponsor a future leader

We also have opportunities for individuals, churches and other organisations to sponsor future leaders in any of our Urban Leadership School programmes.

  • Jellicoe summer internship 2016. A one month internship costs CTC £400 per person
  • Jellicoe Year 2015-16. An 11 month part-time internship costs CTC £3,200 per person

If you would like to discuss sponsoring one of our programmes, please get in touch with the Revd Tim Clapton, Director of the Urban Leadership School.

If you would like further information on any of these schemes, or would prefer to make a donation or join the Community by post, please email us at

Thank you!
